Year 8 STEM Insight Experience Day – Wednesday 2nd April 2025

Our Year 8 pupils enjoyed an informative and fun-packed STEM Day (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), where they spent each lesson with a different employer from a wide spectrum of STEM industries.

In these sessions they not only got to hear about the businesses and the industry sector which they are in, but also took part in some great interactive activities to experience the STEM aspect within each industry, which included Lego model making, matching and mind mapping games, building structures from spaghetti stick, marshmallows and plasticine, designing their own trains, team building games and leadership activities.

Pupils thoroughly enjoyed getting a taste for what sort of work may be involved in the very varied careers within the STEM sector, and all of the employers were incredibly impressed with their ideas, knowledge and enthusiasm during every activity.

All round, the Year 8 STEM Day was a thoroughly enjoyable and an incredibly informative experience for all involved and we would like to thank everyone who took part, well done!

A massive Thank you to our engaged employers from Navy, Siemens Mobility, EDF Energy, Beard Construction, Canal River Trust, and MOD STEM Ambassadors.
